The Senior Safety Cooridnator will obtain referrals from the RCMP as appropriate, to enable one on one visits with seniors. Safety issues that will be discussed with seniors in the privacy of their homes will include security, offer options for health care, and community programming such as Friendly Visiting and Housing Repair Options. This ensures a follow-up and support system is in place for seniors that have been a victim of a crime or their safety has been compromised.

Prime Prevention and Information Workshops

The Senior Safety Coordinator would arrange for the RCMP to present security and safety informational sessions to be delivered at local community halls, senior group homes, and senior complexes. The Coordinator will also invite educational and professional guest speakers with specific backgrounds applicable to safety issues to provide workshops.
